Pressure stays high after cleaning
If the gauge reads high right after a clean or backwash, the media may be worn or clogged.
Repair / Pool filters
If your pool water stays cloudy or the filter pressure stays high even after cleaning, the filter likely needs repair or replacement. Blueviel cleans, repairs and replaces sand, cartridge and DE pool filters across Miami-Dade, Hollywood and Hallandale Beach. A certified technician checks the filter and its valves, and you get a free estimate before any work. Call (888) 401-7133.

01 / The symptoms
Filters wear out slowly, so the signs are easy to miss.
If the gauge reads high right after a clean or backwash, the media may be worn or clogged.
When the chemistry checks out but the water won't clear, the filter isn't catching what it should.
Fine sand or white powder on the pool floor usually means a broken lateral, torn grid or failed part inside the filter.
Needing to clean or backwash more often than you used to is a sign the media is wearing out.
Drips at the tank band, multiport valve or drain plug often come from worn O-rings or gaskets.
Visible tears, flattened pleats or broken grids mean the filter can't work properly.
02 / The work
We work on all three common filter types and the valves and gauges around them.
Deep-clean cartridge and DE filters
Replace cartridges, DE grids and sand or other filter media
Repair laterals, manifolds and internal parts
Replace O-rings, gaskets, tank clamps and drain plugs
Repair or replace multiport and backwash valves
Replace pressure gauges and air relief valves
Replace the whole filter with one sized to your pool and pump
We work on major pool equipment brands, such as Jandy, Pentair, Rheem and Gulfstream.
03 / Good question
It depends on the filter type, how much the pool is used and how much debris it gets. The best guide is the pressure gauge: note the reading right after a clean, and clean or backwash when it climbs noticeably above that, following your filter's manual. Cartridges are rinsed, sand filters are backwashed, and DE filters are backwashed and recharged with fresh DE.
Because Miami pools run all year, we recommend a deep filter clean every quarter on top of routine rinsing or backwashing.
04 / Good question
Repair it when the problem is a part: an O-ring, gauge, valve, lateral or a set of cartridges or grids. Replace it when the tank is cracked, the filter is undersized for your pool or pump, or repairs would cost close to a new filter.
Our post on whether to repair or replace a pool filter goes into more detail.
05 / Good question
It depends on the filter type and size, and whether the plumbing needs changes. Replacing cartridges or media costs much less than replacing the whole filter. Your estimate is free and in writing.
06 / Good question
Each has trade-offs. Sand filters are simple to run, cartridge filters use no backwash water, and DE filters catch the finest particles. The right choice depends on your pool, pump and how much upkeep you want. Read our guide to cartridge, sand and DE filters.

How to book
Four steps from first call to working equipment.
Call (888) 401-7133 or request a free estimate online with your name, phone, the service you need and your address or ZIP. A photo of your equipment pad or any error code on the display helps us come prepared. We take calls and quote requests 7AM–7PM daily.
A technician comes out, checks the equipment and finds the cause, not just the symptom. We'll schedule a visit as soon as possible, depending on your needs.
Simple fixes are quoted on the spot and can often be done the same visit. Bigger repairs and replacements come with a free written estimate that compares the cost of fixing what you have with replacing it, so you can decide before we start.
Once you approve, we make the repair, run the system and check that everything is working together: pump, filter, heater and controls.
The finer details / FAQ
Common questions from Miami pool owners
Clean or backwash when the pressure gauge climbs noticeably above its clean reading, following your filter's manual. For Miami pools we also recommend a deep filter clean every quarter.
The media may be worn or clogged, the cartridges or grids may need replacing, or there may be a restriction after the filter. A technician can find which.
Usually a broken lateral in a sand filter or a torn grid in a DE filter. Both can be repaired without replacing the whole filter.
Often, yes. Leaks at the clamp, valve or drain plug usually come from worn O-rings or gaskets. A cracked tank means the filter needs replacing.
Repair it when a part has failed. Replace it when the tank is cracked, it's undersized, or repairs would cost close to a new filter. We compare both in writing.
A filter that isn't working well, or a pump that isn't running long enough, is the usual cause. We'll check both.
